3 Passes after partner's conventional bid
South opens INT
West : 2C* (alerted) (playing multi-landy)
North :Pass
East : Pass in error (misclick at Realbridge platform)
South: Pass
(Then East realised he had misclicked)
The Director was called by East stating he misclicked- he didn't intend to pass. The director allowed PASS to be replaced by a suit bid on the basis that West had alerted 2C bid and that he clearly intended to bid something other than a pass.
Would this situation be judged in the same way at F2F ?
Grateful to receive opinions from this forum.

Law 25 A2: "If the player’s original intent was to make the call selected or voiced, that call stands. A change of call may be allowed because of a mechanical error or a slip of the tongue, but not because of a loss of concentration regarding the intent of the action."
The director has to make that judgement, regardless whether online or face to face. Perhaps it is easier to click pass in error than to pull out the green card when intending a bid.
