Blue Book / White Book 2026
The Blue Book was not revised last year. This year it is in active development but Blue Book 2026 will not be published at the start of August. There are planned changes/simplification of alerting/announcing. Level 2 will be replace by something more permissive and called 'Basic'. Level 4 will be made easier to apply (at the cost of allowing more around the edges) and labelled 'Advanced'.
The White Book 2026 should be available on Friday and will be effective from 1 August 2026 (Saturday). There are some changes of wording to anticipate the planned changes to the Blue Book. The other changes are mainly saying things we meant to say - some relating to screens and online games.

More changes to the White Book are needed to account for the changes to the Blue Book.
There will not be a new White Book published on 31 July and effective from 1 August.
