No Play
Just read EBU’s advice re taking away boards for slow play. Contained within that is advice for inputting “No Play” for unscheduled rounds. Our club frequently stops short of a completed movement and just publishes results with one or two rounds short. Is it really necessary to input “No Play” in the Bridgemate at all tables for say the remaining 2 rounds, bearing in mind the Bridgemates will reset for the next session?

No. The only reason for inputting "Not played" in the Bridgemates for unplayed rounds is for the Bridgemate system. The scoring system will not care. In EBUScore, the event is scored on the results it has - it does not distinguish between scheduled-and-not-yet-played and scheduled-and-now-not-to-be-played.
Entering "Not played" is often the easiest way of finishing up the movement and getting final results, and it does lead to the correct results. However, it is not required; there are other ways to produce the correct results.
If you do nothing and leave the remaining rounds unscored in the Bridgemates they will be automatically reset when the next event is started but they will often begin with a screen from the old event which will confuse players and require a couple of 'Cancel's or 'OK's to get to the new event. To prevent this it is not necessary to enter 'Not Played' into each individual Bridgemate'. In the BCS screen under the 'Session' menu there is an option to 'Close Rounds'. If you take this option from Round 1 to the last round it will warn you that any unscored boards will be marked as 'Not Played', which, of course in this case, is what you want. You may then still need a couple of key strokes on some Bridgemates where players pressed OK to take them into the first of the abandoned rounds but far less than would be needed to enter all the 'Not Played's.
