Psyches vis-a-vis
My question is : Does one adjust the score in the event of a psyche (not fielded) bidding made by a player and classified as "green" by the director? My own view is you don't. I would be grateful to receive the views of TDs in this group and, if possible, please point me to an appropriate reference number of the White Book.

“ A player may deviate from his side’s announced
understandings, provided that his partner has no
more reason than the opponents to be aware of the
deviation [but see B2(a)(v) above]. Repeated
deviations lead to implicit understandings which
then form part of the partnership’s methods and
must be disclosed in accordance with the
regulations governing disclosure of system. If the
Director judges there is undisclosed knowledge that
has damaged the opponents he shall adjust the
score and may assess a procedural penalty.”
It would appear in the case of your Green Psyche, there would be no score adjustment. It is however important to record the details of the psyche, for future reference or repetition.
Kind regards Steve
Why would you even consider adjusting the score? A psyche is a part of the game (unless partner fields it because, for example, you have done it 54 times previously in the same situation). The WB 1.4.1 says that "A psychic bid is a legitimate ploy as long as it contains the same element of surprise for the psycher’s partner as it does for the opponents"
