MultiSession Links in EBUScore greyed out

I'm running a Pairs event at my club on Sun 23rd Feb where, because of a change of player in one pairing, I need to run two sessions - one before lunch and one in the afternoon. I know I can merge the results from two events and I've been advised that I can aggregate the scores from the two sessions for those pairs whose personnel doesn't change using the EBUScore feature called MultiSession Links.

I decided to check how it worked by merging results from two recent sessions played with similar but not identical pairs. However, when I retrieve the merged event in EBUScore, the MultiSession Links button in the Event Menu is greyed out.

Can anyone advise how I can resolve this? Is there something I should have done when merging the events?

Thanks in anticipation,

  • Did you merge sections or combine sessions?

The cleanest way to achieve what you want is to have the new pair appear in session 1, you need a custom movement where there is a table with the new pair and a sit out and the new pair does not move - so the new pair sits out all of session 1.

In a multi-session event, you can only put pair names in the first session, so a new pair has to appear in session 1.

  • Thanks Robin.

"Did you merge sections or combine sessions?"
    I performed "Merge Sections".
In case that was the wrong choice, I've just trtied "Combine Sessions", but that was rejected with a pop-up stating "Multisession Event must have more than one session."

I think I understand your suggestion. I have a couple of supplementary questions...

    • When I create Session 2, do I need the replaced pair to sit out through the session at an additional table? Or can I run the movement I want with the replaced pair just not appearing?
    • Can I create a custom movement by amending the movement I would like to play, add the additional table and save it as a new movement? This is all definitely new to me!

    Thanks again,
    Chris

To combine sessions you need to change one session to have session number 2. In Event Details.

See section 5, page 15, on the EBUScore Pairs manual. https://www.ebu.co.uk/documents/ebuscore/manual.pdf
