Hi Vlad
Jeff Smith originally set it up with 1 to 250 record numbers.
(See https://www.ebu.co.uk/ebuscore-wiki/manuals and look for Jeffs "less user-friendly reference guide" and click the "here" you will download the manual. You can look at page 9 and it gives more details on events History).
I don't know if this original setting has been changed.
Hope this helps
But the events in a PSEvents file are not 'in memory'. When an event is running, what is in memory is the data for the retrieved event, and the data for the component events if the retrieved event is multi-session or multi-section.
The limit is 400 events. (It was 250 events pre 2018 version). When that's filled, the Create Event button will be greyed out. In practical terms for a club, you really should keep the number of stored events low as its quicker/easier to retrieve and rarely would an event older than say a month need to be accessed. Note also Gordon's comment and you can do a Backup using Adminstration form from time to time, and then delete the PSEvents.dat file (or delete all events) so you can restart work with an empty event history. I think the EBU TDs use that approach to archive their old events for a while eg PSEventsCorwen.dat, PSEventsMasters.dat etc

Worth noting that while there is a limit to the number of events in dat file/s, there is no limit to the number of dat files you can have.

Yes, we usually use a new set of dat files for each congress, which might include more than one event.
