RealBridge Sims Hand Security

In view of the Junior Sims approaching, does RealBridge have plans to hide session results for Sims events until after both days have finished (i.e. is there a way for a club to prevent access to results after the session for a set period)?

Comments

  • With all RealBridge sessions, the hands, results and scores are available to anyone who has the session link - that's just how it works. It's not practicable to change that, even if we wanted to.

A club can control it to some extent by keeping the link private. The organisers could ask the clubs to circulate links by email rather than putting them on their website. However, the clubs might not welcome the added complexity, and it might discourage participation.

In any case, I'm not sure that it would really solve the problem. After Day 1 there will be hundreds of people with a copy of the hands, so security is already compromised. If someone playing on Day 2 really wants to get hold of deals that they haven't played, they probably will.

If you're concerned about security, the best solution is to have a different set of boards each day. That has the added advantage that some clubs will play on both days. If the organisers would like some help in finding people to write commentary, RealBridge would be happy to help - we know a lot of top-class bridge players.

Finally, the best place to ask about RealBridge is via the RealBridge support email - support@realbridge.online - or by phoning us on 0794 232 2209. We welcome questions and are always happy to help. That mailbox is monitored all day every day, and you'll usually get a reply straight away.

  • We will remind all clubs not to post results on their club websites until the end of the second day of each pair of days.
