Changing the movement.
Twice recently I have had occasion to change the movement in EBUScore Pairs - each time has resulted in problems. Obviously I am doing it wrong. Today I had to change a nine-table movement to 8 1/2 after the bridgemates had been set up.
Do all I have to do is
1) Select the new movement.
2) Reset the Bridgemate Server?

I find that this document is very helpful - https://www.bridgewebs.com/obc/OBC Scoring - What can go wrong 2018-01-30.pdf. I'm not sure 'reset' is the right word, you update the movement in the EBUScore movement pane and then click 'Update movement' (normally from either Round 1 or Round 2) in the Bridgemate pane.
The critical part is to ensure that 'Retain results' is ticked on the Select Movement screen. You can mark a Missing pair by returning from Bridgemate screen to Select Movement, marking missing pair, OK to save movement, then Update movement from a specific round. More complex movement changes cannot be done eg setting a Mitchell, then realising you hadnt set an arrowswitch. Here the pairs are numbered differently, so Retain Results wont work!
EBU ClubScore allows for this and other changes that EBUScore currently wont do.
Contrary to JeffreyS's comments above: Using EBUScore Pairs, I was running a 21 table web Mitchell last week at the SBU Overseas Congress. Due to various issues at the start, I failed to set a one winner movement and arrow switches and to drop the 13th round. I set the changes to the movement, checking retain data was ticked and used Update Movement after round 10 (the last correct round). I held my breath and It worked, the only issue was the bridgemates stopped showing the names. Thanks to Jeff and Jonathon for creating and maintaining a programme that works so well when you need it.
Great - I think from memory it failed in the previous release around 2015 (where it probably used the 'displayed' pair number to retain results) but was corrected in the 2018 release (to use the internal pair number which is always unique). I think it will fail to retain results if you add/delete a table (because internal pair numbers are different). Its usually better to restart in those cases.
Thanks for the feedback.
