Destroy Pairs function on RealBridge

A few times recently, whilst playing a Pairs session on RealBridge someone has lost their internet connection (or had a computer problem) resulting in them having to abandon the evening's bridge.
RealBridge has a function called "Destroy Pairs" which allows the Director to expunge all results achieved by that pair, so it's as if they never played.
Is there any "good practice" guidance (or indeed rules) as to when to apply this option depending on how many boards have been played?
For example would you "destroy" a pair up to half-way, but keep their results if they have played more than half the boards?
Or perhaps after two-thirds?

Many thanks for any advice.
Ian

  • Hi, withdrawn pairs are in the White Book, section 2.4. The most relevant part here is;

    2.4.4 Not all-play-all –withdrawal part way through a session - If a contestant withdraws before half of the session is completed, all scores obtained against that contestant are cancelled.
    If a contestant withdraws after completing half of the session, all scores obtained against the withdrawn contestant stand. Any contestant required to ‘sit out’ as a result of the withdrawal receives AVE+

    It's also worth looking at 2.4.5, which covers the score for withdrawn pairs. I'd be inclined to accept this as a good reason, in which case they get Av- for the missed boards and get a score.
