Declarer Vs GIB

BBO Play times out on a hand. Declarer to play with six cards remaining.
TD examines GIB, that says all lines lead to -1. So that is given as the adjusted score.
Declarer disputes this!
(Separate issue: Does anyone have an on-line Appeals procedure?)
Obviously 'best' play all round would lead to -1.
But the defence is not obvious.
Do you rule in accordance with GIB?
Do you assign a weighted score based on your own assessment of the likely lines of play?
Does the culpability for slowness have a bearing?
(I could provide details, but I am more interested in the principle here)

  • You can appeal in an EBU game in the usual way, by telling the TD that you want to do so within the correction period and providing a deposit.

The limitations of BBO processes mean that you can't give a weighted score there, so it is usual to either give an unweighted score or an artificial score, although it is possible to give a weighted score outside of BBO on the extracted results before submitting them.

If an artificial score is given then it should take account of the degree of responsibility for the inability for the board to be played out.
