3 Session Teams Event

Historically I have run these as 1 session events and combined them after the third session. What advantages and pitfalls are there to setting up and combining the 3 sessions before commencement of the first session?

  • The advantage is that you can display cumulative ranks during sessions 2 and 3. You also need combined sessions to do the links and hence display start positions for sessions 2 and 3. I think in terms of planning an event it makes sense to set everything at the start.

  • Thanks Jeff but I obviously did something wrong.
I set up and combined the three sessions but when I tried to get going, running from the multi and launched Bridgemates the tables said "Not activated". By deleting the fourth (multi) event and running the normal session 1 the Bridgemates worked normally. Any obvious thing I was doing wrong?

  • Cant think of any cause. You retrieve the multi event, go to bridgemate screen, ensure Session = 1, then create database and launch bcs buttons. For session 2, you can use Restart button, ensure Session =2, create database and launch bcs buttons. The 'not activated' cant be related to this....maybe you had bcs running already from previous game. I'm sure the EBU preset all the sessions for a multi event so I would say that is normal usage.

  • If you already have BCS Control running, it gives you a specific message to that effect. I would just close both programs, re-create the multi session and try again.

  • Thank you both. I'll try again at the second session.
