Very Weak 2 Psyche
I’m interested to know how you should deal with this at club level.
South opens 2H announced as weak.
I assume this should be recorded as a psyche as a gross? under statement of length and strength.
Bidding goes 2H, 3C,Pass, 3NT.

Some clubs have a psyche book in which to record such things although perhaps this is flawed as some simply can't be bothered to record.
Assuming the card said 5-9 or similar then having a 3 count with five very bad hearts does perhaps qualify as a psyche. Partner hasn't taken any unexplained action so perhaps recording it is only relevant if it happens repeatedly. If it is typical to open such hands then the card should reflect this agreement
At the end of the hand, North was quite surprised by the opening bid.
I think it's mainly a matter of disclosure and the pair concerned should be told to be clear about exactly what the hand shows, including how weak it can be and how poor the suit. Depending on what their agreement is, this may or may not be a departure from it.
To me this is still a weak two, just an unusually weak one. NV I don't think I'd take note of it at all.
As Gordon says, disclosure matters. The announcement of weak alone can cover a rather broad difference in ranges from the fairly traditional 6 card suit 4-10 HCP to 5 card suit, 0-9, more like we've got here. And at club level I'd be concerned that this pair was making every effort to be clear what they were playing. Probably rather than recording it as a psych, although I guess recording it might serve to motivate the pair in question.
York Bridge Club used to have a psych book, I think there were two entries in it.
